Hot and Dry Summers
Experience the comfort of hot, dry summers in Coeur d'Alene! With temperatures ranging up to 100°F near the end of July and the start of August, it's the ideal place to spend your summer days outdoors or by the lake. Adventuring in the woods, floating the lake, or strolling downtown, summer weather in Coeur d'Alene is marvelous for everything.
Mild Winters
Winters in Coeur d'Alene can have snow but are mild and typically short-lived due to the warm air off of Lake Coeur d'Alene. Temperatures rarely dip below freezing even in January or February, and snow is usually light. Though snowfall is mild directly in Coeur d'Alene, just outside of town are the Coeur d'Alene Mountains which are a part of the northwesternmost portion of the Bitterroot Range and can see an average of 382" a year. This nearby snowfall ensures access to lots of popular winter activities.
Social Spring in Coeur d'Alene
As the temperatures trend upward and the flowers & birds return, Coeur d'Alene cones alive. The highs range from 45° in March to around 70° by the end of May. During this time, Coeur d'Alene is bursting with great activities. April brings the Wine Extravaganza, which features 65 different wines to taste. Golf courses from par-3 Ponderosa to Championship Coeur d'Alene Resort are in full swing. Farmer's markets begin in May, and the annual Car d'Alene car show is a must attend in June. Local art galleries and crafters open up in the late afternoon for First Friday Artwalks, allowing you a chance to discover local artists and their inspirations. You also can't miss an opportunity to wet your whistle with the seasonal spring beers, which are out and ready to sample at more than a dozen local breweries.

As the fall season arrives in Coeur d'Alene, the turning of leaves brings a new type of beauty to its landscape. Some of the most breathtaking sights are painted with warm hues of oranges, yellows, and reds, delightful scenery for any visitor. The daily temperature in September is usually in the low 70° and gets colder as we head further into Fall. October averages Low 60s to high 50s. November brings mid-40 ° temperatures.

How To Pack For Coeur d'Alene & The Surround Area
Packing in layers and with diversity is helpful. If you are out and about in the outdoors, some good warm socks, thermal layers, and winter accessories are a must from November to March. However, come spring, summer, and fall, thin, easy-to-shed clothing is best, and be sure you have options for water-resistant jackets along with shoes or boots for spring showers. Summertime definitely calls for shorts, sundresses, and comfortable, light clothing. Whether you naturally run warmer or cooler, you may still want to carry a light sweater for the evenings year-round.
